For Sale :: Blog and Email Marketing Expertise

If you saw that headline and thought, great, another Internet company pitching its “next generation” this and “new technology” that — you wouldn’t be alone. Call it flaky, call it free enterprise. Whatever you make of the latest Web 2.0 fad that’s got everyone publicly hocking their company, it’s probably not going away anytime soon. Up this time is Zookoda, a blog-oriented email marketing tool. I used Zookoda a while back for a few email blasts and I can’t say I was all that impressed. The company markets itself pretty well, but once inside the application, I experienced performance problems with the reporting feature and building the email template was a bit cumbersome. Similar to TypePad, you have to use their tags for calling certain pieces of content. It’s just too much to learn when all I wanted to do was build a simple template.
It would be interesting to see someone like a SilverPop or EmailLabs roll some of Zookoda’s blogging expertise into their mid-market and enterprise email marketing suites. Even then, there’s still quite a bit of overlap when it comes to the bigger B2B email marketers.
