iPod Rival Zune Gives Microsoft Another “Second-Mover Advantage”

Looks like Redmond’s starting to release details on Zune – the long-rumored iPod competitor.
A few quick observations. Have you noticed how companies time the build up of these launches? They leak details to select sources, get the online communities buzzing, and follow up with the official corporate-speak (press release). That’s really the model it seems.

And I guess you have to add this launch to the long line of examples that prove Microsoft has mastered the ”second-mover advantage”. Think Palm.
Product wise, I think $400 is a bit steep, but I’d be tempted with XM radio and Wi-Fi.
